U.S. Customs and Border Protection have made a huge bust of counterfeit products at the border between Ontario and Minnesota. The goods that were seized this time were home theatre speaker systems valued around $1,4 million dollars.
Officers were searching a train’s cargo that was crossing into the USA when they came across 480 home theatre speaker systems with the counterfeit markings. The shipment originated from British Columbia.
The border crossing at Fort Frances and International Falls has been a hot spot for counterfeit products being smuggled across the border. There has been many high profile seizures made at the crossing in recent years. including a previous shipment of speakers, toy planes, and barbie dolls.
