On Friday, March 9, 2018 at 12:26 pm, a male entered Rainbow on May located at the corner of Victoria and May.
The male looked at some of the products and asked to see a bubbler. The clerk was retrieving the bubbler while the man pulled out a machete. He then demanded cash from the clerk.
After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber chopped the cordless phone handset for the business into pieces to delay any calls to police.
The whole incident has been captured on video and Thunder Bay Police Services have it. At this point, there has been no media notification from the Director of Communications at Thunder Bay Police and there has been no reason stated to why the public’s help is not needed in finding the armed robber with the machete.
