Sources are telling us that a 62-year-old male was allegedly thrown off a third story balcony at the Andras Court building (100 block of Cumberland Street South) this morning around 7:43am.
Witnesses on the scene told us that there may have been an altercation leading up to the man suffering the fall.
From what we have been told, witnesses heard a lot of screaming and commotion, then a male was allegedly assaulted and then thrown out of a third story balcony, dying on impact with the ground, and a pool of blood had surrounded the body where he lay.
Police are still investigating.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding death of a 62-year-old man this morning in Thunder Bay.
Preliminary information suggests the following:
In the morning hours of April 1, 2018, the Thunder Bay Police Service was notified of a dispute at an apartment building in the area of South Water Street and Cumberland Street South.
Officers arrived at the building at approximately 7:35 a.m.
A short time later, a man was found on the ground below a 3rd floor apartment unit.
The man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
At this time, two investigators and two forensic investigators have been assigned to this incident.
The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The Unit is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident to upload that video through the SIU website.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault. Under the Police Services Act, the Director of the SIU must
consider whether an officer has committed a criminal offence in connection with the incident under investigation
depending on the evidence, lay a criminal charge against the officer if appropriate or close the file without any charges being laid
report the results of any investigations to the Attorney General.
