City Marks At Least $160,000 To Plant Trees

The City of Thunder Bay is preparing for a bug to ravage itโ€™s Ash Tree population. The Emerald Ash Borer is expected to knock out many trees.

A city official claims that the city has at least doubled the amount of tree that they will be planting this spring. The Parks Department usually plants anywhere from 150 to 200 trees yearly.

The City has planned to purchase 400 trees from a nursery in southern Ontario at a cost of $80,000, and then just as much if not more will be spent on crews to plant the trees around the city.

The City is expecting the number of trees planted yearly to grow, as the Emerald Ash Borer infestation ravages the region.
