A 33-year-old RUSSELL PELTONEN was scheduled to appear in courtroom 102 today before Her Honour Justice Elaine Burton to plead guilty to operate motor vehicle with BAC over .08

PELTONEN is not present but his lawyer David Bruzzese is here to enter a guilty plea on his behalf.

Crown Attorney Sarah Munch reads the admitted facts into the record.ย 

At 10 pm on August 12, 2017, Police were called to a vehicle collision on Lakeshore Drive. Police found a damaged vehicle and occupants of the car were not there. They were located nearby and PELTONEN admitted being the driver. He had a large cut on his head that required medical attention. Another male with him who was in the accident had a broken hand. An ambulance was called and they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Over 3 hours after the accident at 1 am, a BAC was taken at the hospital, and the readings were .112 &.106

PELTONEN has cooperated with police and he receives a 1000$ fine and 1-year driving prohibition.
