This afternoon, Saskatchewan RCMP were notified of another death resulting from the fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred yesterday. This brings the number of people who died in this collision to 15.


April 7th, 2018,

At approximately 5 p.m. this afternoon, a semi-trailer unit collided with a passenger bus carrying members of the Humboldt Broncos on Highway #35 approximately 30 kilometres north of Tisdale.

We can confirm that there are fatalities among the passengers on the bus and a number of serious injuries. We cannot confirm numbers at this time.

Rescue efforts remain ongoing, and that remains our primary focus at this time. Therefore, we have limited information available.

A gathering spot has been set-up for families at the Nipawin Apostolic Church and we encourage them to go there where they will be provided with information and support.

The investigation is ongoing. The Saskatchewan RCMP have deployed significant resources to the scene to assist with this tragic incident.

Saskatchewan RCMP would like to acknowledge the efforts of our emergency response partners at the scene and in the community of Nipawin.

We will make every effort to keep the media and the public updated as information becomes available.

Finally, our thoughts and prayers are with the families tonight.
