On the 7th of April 2018, the Provincial Communication Centre of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call of a male driver passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle on Highway 11 in Dawson Township.
An officer from the Rainy River OPP detachment went to the scene and located the male. As a result of the police investigation, Steven JACK was arrested for Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and was transported to the Fort Frances OPP detachment to provide breath tests. The tests revealed that the male had over the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.
The accused was subsequently charged with:
1. Care or control of a motor vehicle s. 253(1)(a)
2. Over 80 Mgs s. 253(1)(b)
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Rainy River on the 25th of July 2018.
