The call came in shortly after 8:00 pm this evening and had Thunder Bay Police Service, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, and Superior North EMS respond.

Several witnesses on the scene told TRCCTB that at least one person was retrieved from the river, and was being warmed up inside Markโ€™s. One witness said they were overwhelmed by the smell of alcohol emanating off this person and that they believe emergency services were making sure no one else was in the river.

Eyewitnesses told TRCCTB that there was a group of 5 people loitering along the river when at least one of them fell in and required rescue.

TRCCTB counted 4 Thunder Bay Fire Rescue trucks, 2 Ambulances and 2 Police vehicles that we noticed.
