Around 10 people were hit by a van near the intersection of Finch Avenue East and Yonge Street Monday afternoon.

The van drove over the curb and smashed its way through a crowd of people. The driver quickly fled the scene, but to no avail as they were captured by police near SheppardΒ and Yonge. No motive is known at this point, but some people are questioning if it was an act of terrorism.

Witnesses at the scene described it as a terrifying situation, extended over several city blocks which left victims lying everywhere.

His shoes were like 100 feet away up the road, he’d obviously been hit very hard and flung far. I checked for vital signs, he appeared to be deceased.”
