(GREENSTONE, ON) – On April 24, 2018, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a Longlac, Ontario residence.
The OPP Greenstone Detachment’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) had been conducting an investigation into the trafficking of Methamphetamine within the Municipality of Greenstone. As a result of this investigation, the CSCU, with assistance from the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), and local Greenstone officers, safely executed the search warrant and seized a quantity of Methamphetamine and marihuana.
Rebekka MORENCY, age 28, of Longlac, Ontario, has been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance, – Methamphetamine – contrary to section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Failure to Comply with Undertaking, contrary to section 145 (3) of the Criminal Code
MORENCY currently has other outstanding drug-related offences before the courts.
She was held at the Greenstone OPP detachment for a video bail hearing on the morning of April 25, 2018, and will appear next in Longlac Court on May 2, 2018, at 10:00 am to answer to all charges.
