NEEBING RIVER WATER RESCUE – SIMPSON STREET BRIDGE

Just before 8:00 pm this evening, a male was in the middle of the Neebing River, near the Simpson Street Bridge.

Eyewitnesses on the scene told TRCCTB.COM in an interview that the male was screaming and swearing with a heavy slur. Shortly after that, the call was made to 911 to request assistance for the man.

Thunder Bay Police Service arrived, and asked the man to return to shore, he refused.

The police officers on location began to throw a rope to the man, and urged him to come to shore for his and their safety.

The male eventually calmed down and came to shore, where Superior North EMS was waiting to assist him.
