GOVER NOT TO POSSESS ANY WEAPONS EXCEPT EXPLOSIVES.
A 36 year old TONY GOVER appeared by VIDEO in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court on Saturday April 28,2018 from the Marathon OPP Station.
His Worship, Bruce Leaman is presiding. Provincial Crown Tiffany Boisvert is here along with Duty Counsel Joy Wakefield.
GOVER was arrested on the morning of April 27,2018. Court hears that police were called about 9am about an unwanted intoxicated person. Police came and removed GOVER, but brought him to another residence a few blocks away and warned him not to return. GOVER agreed but returned to the woman’s residence 2 hours later anyways and struck her several times with an open hand. Police arrived and arrested him.
Court hears that his criminal record starts in 2002. There is a gap in record, then a flurry of criminal convictions in 2008. His most recent conviction on his record is 2017.
He only has one conviction of breach of police officer undertaking.
The court hears that he’s from Saint Zotique, Quebec and is a production miner at Barrick Gold’s Hemlo site.
GOVER can be released on an undertaking with conditions.
He’s not allowed to consume or possess any alcohol.
He’s to report to the police every week.
He’s not allowed in the town of Marathon except for court appearances.
He’s not allowed to possess any weapons except explosives for work purposes.
His next appearance is in Marathon court June 13,2018.
