CRIMINAL WITH LENGTHY HISTORY AND OUTSTANDING CHARGES RECEIVES BAIL
A 37 year old CHEM HYVARINEN appeared by video in Bail Court today, Tuesday May 1,2018 from the Thunder Bay Police Station.
Her Worship, Jennifer Neill is presiding. Provincial Crown Sarah Munsch is here along with Duty Counsel Lianne Roberge.
HYVARINEN is wearing a black shirt and hair is mostly light coloured.
The court hears that he’s alleged to have committed a break and enter yesterday at 2600 block of Arthur St. to steal money out of coin vending machines. He was arrested with break in tools in his possession including pry bar, screwdriver and wire with magnet.
He’s also alleged to have been in possession of a stolen credit card.
The court also hears numerous allegations of breach of probation. And he has outstanding counts. I think it was 12 breaches of probation. But I lost count after 10 allegations.
He has a lengthy criminal record.
Crown Attorney Munsch is agreeing to release HYVARINEN on a 200$ no deposit bail with conditions not to possess break and enter tools.
Justice of the Peace Neill seems to be not happy with the Crown’s decision and warns HYVARINEN that he’s moving up the bail ladder very quickly. Any future breaches will not be viewed favourably.
HYVARINEN is released with future court date of May 8,2018.
He’s ordered not to have any contact with his victims
NO OTHER LOCAL MEDIA IS PRESENT.
