While at the event police located and arrested a subject wanted in connection with several unsolved hamburger thefts in the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP detachment area.

The notorious burger thief known as “The Hamburglar” was taken into police custody without incident. He was released unconditionally a short time later after making a donation to McHappy Day and professing his rehabilitation.

Cst. Peever and the Hamburglar, played by Community Living Ambassador Josh Woermke, are shown in the attached picture. In addition to working locally, Woermke volunteers his time as a mascot for other community organizations in the Pembroke area.
