(KENORA, ON) – On April 20, 2018 at approximately 8:21 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a report of a single motor vehicle collision with a rock cut on the East Mellick Road in the City of Kenora.
Police attended with Kenora Fire and Emergency Medical Services The lone male occupant was treated on scene and released with non-life threatening injuries. Upon speaking to the driver it was determined that he had been consuming alcohol.
As a result of this investigation, 20-year-old Kirkland JOHNSON of Kenora has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Driving While Ability Impaired (Alcohol) contrary to section 253(1)(a) and
- Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b)
The accused is to appear in Kenora Criminal Court on May 17, 2018 to answer to the charges.
