(RED LAKE, ON) – Members of the Red Lake/Ear Falls Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the Red Lake Crime Unit and the OPP Northwest Regional Support Team continue to investigate an incident involving students at a local school.
On Thursday May 10, 2018, the Red Lake OPP arrested a third youth in relation to threats to a school in Red Lake.
A 14-year-old youth from Red Lake was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. The youth is being held in custody for a bail hearing.
The Red Lake OPP take all public safety threats seriously and provides resources necessary to assess and respond to such threats. The OPP will continue to work closely with both schools and their boards to ensure the safety of staff and students.
