ALLEGED FIRE BUG ARRESTED AFTER COUNTY FAIR FIRE

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A grass fire was blazing behind County Fair Mall shortly after 7:30 pm.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue’s Pumper 2 crew responded to the scene in record time as always.

Upon arriving on the scene the crew eliminated the flames and cooled the area.

A REAL Concerned Citizen seen an individual squatting in the dry grass, and moments later a small fire began raging. The citizen’s spouse came running out, and pursued the suspect who was attempting to flee.

The suspect seemingly attempted to hide under a tree. Upon closer inspection, the suspect appeared to be heavily intoxicated and smelt of cheap liquor.

The REAL Concerned Citizen that was in pursuit, stood by the male suspect until police arrived and detained the individual. While the individual was detained, police gathered evidence.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-9, slim build, indigenous, wearing all black.
