(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A Brampton man was arrested last night for allegedly failing to comply with his recognizance and allegedly trafficking cocaine.
Prasath Thanigasalam appeared in courtroom 104 this morning, in front of His Worship Bernard Caron. He appears short, mid 90’s Fresh Prince of Bel Air hair cut, with a heavy accent.
THANIGASALAM was already on a $10,000 bail regarding an incident in southern Ontario. THANIGASALAM is supposed to reside in Brampton, and has outstanding matters in Toronto.
THANIGASALAM is charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
- Possession proceeds of crime
- Fail to comply with recognizance: Not possess illicit drugs
The crown is not consenting to his release, and mentions how THANIGASALAM is supposed to be residing in Brampton. The crown asks for the matter to put over to Wednesday May 16th.
THANIGASALAM is remanded into custody until Wednesday May 16th.

Disturbance Call Results in a Drug Arrest
Patrol officers responded to a disturbance call in the 1400 block of Brown Street on May 14, 2018 at approximately 2:15 a.m. It was reported that a male was threatening individuals in the area with a tire iron and left the scene in a vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle pulled over on the 600 block of Brown Street. A male who was with the vehicle was arrested after the officers observed the tire iron and drugs in the front of the vehicle. Officers also located a sum of Canadian currency during a search of the male subsequent to the arrest.
The 27 year old male from Brampton, Ontario was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, Breach of Recognizance and Proceeds of Crime. He will appear in court this morning.
This investigation is ongoing.
