(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A north side neighbourhood is left rattled after a case of suspected arson blasted through a community staple.
An Academy area playground was roasted by some local kids, claims a witness on the scene. The playground has a layer of wood chips on the ground, instead of sand like most other similar parks in town.
The fire damaged a portion of the playground, and seared a sizeable portion of the surrounding ground near what is believed to be the beginning of the inferno.
The witness knows the child who is alleged to have started this blaze, and has been sharing that info. It is believed it is only a matter of time before the authorities sort out the situation.
If you have children and live in the Academy area, please ensure the playground your children use is clean, safe, and not burned before allowing them to play on it. A big thank you to all the adults who helped suppress the fire, which stopped it from spreading beyond the stairs.

The favourite food of the child alleged to have burned the park is a chicken nugget happy meal, with a toy, not a book, and apple juice, according to multiple sources.
