(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Appearing in courtroom 104 this morning, is Eugene Bannon, with Justice of the Peace Leeman presiding.
David Young is representing Bannon, who is alleged to have stolen merchandise from The Real Canadian Superstore (not affiliated with The REAL Concerned Citizens of Thunder Bay) in February 2018.
Bannon appears quiet, dressed in a black, long sleeved shirt, and seems attentive and respectful during the proceedings.
The crown attorney is not consenting to his release, and cites primary ground concerns. Primary grounds are based around the likelihood of the accused to return to court.
Bannon was arrested due to failing to appear for a May 8th 2018, prelimary hearing, which is part of the court process in handling his theft under $5000 charge.
Bannon requests to speak to Duty Counsel, and is taken to a private area to do so. The court waits for a few moments while the private conversation commences.
Once duty counsel returns, they request that Bannon returns to court tomorrow, by video.
Bannon is remanded into custody for a Friday May 18th, 2018 appearance.
