Her worship reads out the charges Thomas is facing, from last nights incident, along with charges stemming from an incident at a Mac’s location earlier this month, in which it is alleged he stole from the store while armed with a syringe.

His charges dated May 19th are:

  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking: No weapons: Knife with 3” blade

Charges stemming from a May 3rd warrant are as follows:

  • Theft while armed: Syringe
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking: 10pm – 6am curfew

The crown attorney is opposed to Thomas’ release, and states this is a reverse onus situation and plans to put Thomas to his onus, which means that Thomas needs to show the court why and how he should be released, in a manner that satisfies the three grounds for detention.

Justice Gibbon remands Thomas into custody for a Wednesday May 23rd court appearance.
