I took my 3 yo daughter for a walk this morning in current river. We went around the neighbourhood a bit and ended up walking to Robins Donuts. We came to a crosswalk and from what I witnessed, people do not know how to treat a crosswalk that doesn’t have flashing lights…..
On the way there we waited for 7 cars to speed there way past without batting an eyelash, and when we were safely able to cross an suv came speeding down the street and did not slow down, nearly clipping the tail end of my wagon with my daughter in it.
On the way back we used the same crosswalk again, this time only 3 vehicles passing by, the 4th coming from opposite direction. Given that it was a marked TBPS vehicle I figured it was a sure thing we could cross…… Boy was I wrong!!!!!!!
The officer in a fully marked vehicle not only made eye contact with me waiting to cross the street he drove right on through!!!!
Am I the only one who was taught that pedestrians using a crosswalk have the right of way and vehicles must stop to allow them to cross the road???????
