(NEEBING, ON) – On June 1, 2018, at approximately 3:30pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 61, south of Boundary Drive.
A tractor trailer unit was north bound on Highway 61 when the trailer disconnected from the tractor. The trailer went into the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a south bound vehicle.
The male driving the vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
The company that owns the tractor trailer was charged with the offence of Unsafe Vehicle contrary to section 84 of the Highway Traffic Act.
