(GULL BAY FIRST NATION, ONT) – Gull Bay First Nation and Lac Des Iles mine had a meeting, where officials from both sides ended up coming to an agreement, the terms of which will remain confidential.
On the sixth day of the “Traditional Gathering”, which saw community members of Gull Bay First Nation, and other area community members conduct cultural practices and exercise their inherent rights on their traditional land, which ultimately blocked traffic at one entrance of the mine, has now been dismantled and traffic is now flowing again.
During a Tuesday morning meeting between Chief Wilfred King and North American Palladium signed a letter of intent. The mine satisfied all of Gull Bay First Nations demands, according to King.
The deal is currently kept confidential, so no more than that will be said for the time being. If we get a copy of the agreement, it’s safe to say you know what we will do.
