ASSAULT ON A WOMAN AND CONFINEMENT

(THUNDER BAY, ONT) – Appearing in courtroom 104 this morning by video from the Thunder Bay Police Station is 28-year-old Adam Ullius. His Worship Bruce Leaman is presiding, along with Derrick Silvestro as the Provincial Crown Attorney, and Andrew Desmoulin as duty counsel.

Ullius seems alert, attentive, and eager to be released.

Ullius is alleged to have commited multiple crimes on multiple dates.

Charges stemming from a June 7th, 2018 alleged incident are:

  • Assault (on a woman)
  • Unlawful confinement

Charges stemming from a June 9th, 2018 alleged incident are as follows:

Crown Attorney Derrick Silvestro indicates this is a Crown onus situaiton, and although he has secondary ground concerns, he would consent to his own recognizance release under the following conditions:

  • No contact/communication with the complainant
  • Not to attend within 100 metres of where she lives/works/goes to school
  • No weapons
  • Not to consume/possess/purchase alcohol except for employment purposes
  • $500 deposit

Ullies is alleged to have slapped the same woman, on two separate occasions. He also blocked her from leaving the place where this occurred. Alcohol is said to have been involved.

Ullies is granted release under those conditions by His Worship Leaman as soon as someone drops off $500 at the Thunder Bay Police Service Station.
