The event saw 6 people attend, and gather 15 garbage bags worth of waste found around the area along with half a large sharps container worth of needles during the two hour clean up, according to Ashlee Dawn, Clean Up Crew organizer.

โ€œOne of our members spotted a bag right beside the trail half buried in the dirt. This shopping bag was filled with needles and drug paraphernalia.โ€ explains Dawn

โ€œWe properly disposed of these, however, this is a REAL Concern for the publicโ€™s safety in this busy pedestrian traffic area, which includes adults and children.โ€

โ€œEvery cleanup we do is a cold hard reminder of the crisis we are facing in this city. Something has to be done. We got lots cleaned up but thereโ€™s still more to do so we plan to return for a Part 2 clean-up this week.โ€ Dawn urges.
