TRANSPORT DRIVER CHARGED

(BLIND RIVER ON) – On June 13, 2018 shortly after 5:30 a.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a lone tractor trailer near the junction of Highway 17 and Oak Street in the Town of Blind River.

Investigation determined that a westbound tractor trailer entered a ditch on the north side of the highway and came to rest on its side causing major damage to the cab.

The driver was transported to the local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Parminder SINGH, 22 years of age from Brampton, Ontario was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with:

  • Careless, contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act.

  1. Saw this coming…there’s no end in sight. It’s like a spin of the roulette wheel. Suddenly around a corner the oncoming tractor is in your lane, the older one beside the driver with the white beard gestures and the head on collision is averted. (true).
