(THUNDER BAY DISTRICT) – A flood watch has been issued for the region surrounding Thunder Bay by the Lakehead Regional Conservation Authority.
The flood watch includes Dorion, Shuniah, Oliver Paipoonge, Neebing, Gillies, Conmee and Thunder Bay.
There is a potential for 50 to 75 millimetres of rainfall to slam the area from a thunderstorm, with more accumulating overnight and through Sunday.
Intense rainfall during short bursts can end up with localized flooding in lower-lying areas throughout the region.
TRCCTB.COM would like to remind residents to keep their electronics charged, candles and matches ready, along with food and water readily accessible, should a flood occur.
