(OPINION) – Trevor C submitted a video to our page showing a person being detained inside Victoriaville Mall, for unknown reasons.
The person videotaping requests that the woman being detained stop resisting, and he informs her that he is recording. Trevor tells us that the lady was thrown to the ground just before the recording started.
Question, should detainment procedures be different for males and females?
Should we treat people differently based on their gender?
Was this excessive force?
What other thoughts do you have about this video? Video Below:
I had someone come forward and tell me what they had witnesses at the scene. Here is what they said to me:
”Hey Pino thought I’d let you know about the video she was riding her bike In the mall. First off the security guard asked her to get off, she didn’t want to listen to him and if she went nicely like he had asked, but she started to argue and when he placed his hand on the bike nicely she started to become very combative and rude.”
“He told her to go nicely to the office to get the office to talk about it. She’s caused a stink even then I was there I didn’t see after they went towards the office I heard the yelling and that and he even said if she didn’t go he would place her under arrest if she didn’t comply.”
“She was the one in the wrong in my eyes it all stated in the food court. She went somewhat nice and I Gusse she decided not to listen. I heard all the yelling I stayed out of the way. as with being pregnant, I’m not going to go towards trouble right now.”
“That’s what happened before buddy started to video tape. She was a pain from when she was asked to get off the bike in the mall I knew she’d be trouble when she yanked the bike after the guard put his hand on her bike and calmly started talking to her.”
“She started to yell and scream at him when he asked her politely to go. Is this excessive and force? No! Security guards who have the handcuff course are trained by police on how to detain ppl so.”
“I think he should’ve had back up but he did the job he needed to even thou it was just him if people are boneheads and not comply with what they r asked, and resist, you do what u need to in my opinion and seeing a good part of it unfold in the food court! If u publish this can u plz not put my name in this one ty”
