Ontario’s green energy program offers rebates and other incentives for residents looking to make their homes more energy efficient.

For the first time ever, the Solar Power Conference is being held outside of Ontario. This brings a lot of momentum towards Alberta for the energy efficient businesses.

All of the investment that was flowing into Ontario is now going to move to other provinces since the elimination of the green energy program.

Alberta has a lot of sun and the most available fuel, making it another great alternative for solar power businesses.

  1. Slightly inaccurate… Solar energy companies apply for grants and subsides from the federal and provincial governments. That money is provided by tax payers. The incentives on your electricity bills are also paid by tax payers. The reason most solar companies end up going bankrupt is become eventually the subsidies from the government run out and the profit margins are not high enough to maintain the company. Tax payers should not be on the hook for failed Green ON policies or entrepreneurs. Research for advancing green technologies should be pursued in our post secondary institutions until the energy provided is effective and sustainable through the market without government assistance.
