(ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA) – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is announcing a significant seizure of 64 kilograms of suspected cocaine at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon port of entry (POE).
On April 30, 2018, during an exam of a commercial truck, border services officers (BSOs) discovered what appeared to be narcotics. The truck was referred for a secondary examination and a detector dog was called in to assist.
Upon further examination, and as a result of the diligence and determination of BSOs, a total of 54 bricks of suspected cocaine was discovered.
The vehicle was seized and the driver and suspected narcotics were turned over to Royal Canadian Mounted Police Federal Serious and Organized Crime.
The investigation is ongoing.
