(THUNDER BAY, ON) – As the deadline approaches for candidates to enter the municipal election, one man is making it clear, he will not be entering, that man is Ken Boshcoff.
Boshcoff, the Tournament Director for the Staal Foundation Open, tossed out a Facebook post this morning, announcing and explaining his decision. Below is his post in full.
ABOUT RUNNING FOR MAYOR
Thank you for all your encouragement over the past few years to become your Mayor. For me that has been most validating to my time in public service.
However, after much thought it is with difficulty that I must tell you that I will not be running in this election.
We are all aware that our city needs a person of experience, balance, integrity and commitment. It is not a job for anyone who does not a long proven record in governance, leadership, or decision-making.
Knowing those criteria I am certain someone will come forward.
I will continue to serve my community as a volunteer, organizer, or project manager for people-based charities and causes.
I do have to attend to some health issues, (not life-threathening).
You know I greatly appreciate your friendship and support, and I look forward to working with you on community causes in the future.
