A witness on the scene tells TRCCTB.COM that the fire started at the back of the house, likely on the deck and quickly started to work its way into the house. Our observation is that the fire got up into the roof, as firefighters were battling the blaze.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue responded to the scene, with an initial 3 pumper trucks, but called for more as a second alarm was heard being called.

The fire appeared to be under control by 5:30 pm. No paramedics responded to the scene, so we assume nobody was hurt.

TRCCTB would like to remind everyone to dispose of their cigarette butts properly. Also, ensuring that your butt container is secure and doesnโ€™t tip over and start a fire is also highly recommended.
