(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A south-side neighbourhood is in distress as a presumed overdose has occurred.
The residence near Victoriaville Mall had Thunder Bay Police Service, Superior North EMS, and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue respond to the scene.
TRCCTB.COM saw naloxone kits being handled around the patient. The patient looked dazed and sweaty, but alive and sent off to Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
The best solution in our view, to not overdose, is to not use drugs. If you are going to use drugs and risk an overdose, please take turns getting high using the buddy system, so that if someone overdoses, there is someone there to administer naloxone and call 911.
Overdoses have been on the rise in Thunder Bay for at least a few years now. Not all overdoses are fatal, but all overdoses are preventable. Talk to your children today about the dangers of using drugs.
