LIFE-THREATENING AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

(MARATHON, ON) – On July 31, 2018, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Marathon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an unconscious male at an alleged drug house residence on Stevens Avenue in Marathon.

Officers attended and confirmed that a 20-year-old male from Marathon was receiving medical attention from Superior North Emergency Medical Services. He was subsequently flown to Thunder Bay for further medical assistance.

Marathon resident Sheldon FINLAYSON, 45-years-old, was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code

He appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Marathon this morning (August 1, 2018).

This charge may be upgraded soon, due to some sad news. Update coming soon.

Members of the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, the North West Region Emergency Response Team, the Regional Support Team and Forensic Identification Services under the direction of Detective Inspector Darryl Sigouin of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault. There is no concern for public safety.

    That’s pretty crappy.
    Regardless if he was partying it up at a crack house.
    Hell, how many of us can honestly say we never accidentally found ourselves in a dwelling that may or may not had the symptoms of a crack house…
    Some of the best parties if ever been had been held in a crack house on Rupert, then on ambrose, then on high street, then on first street….

    1. Yes my nephew pass today and no it happened by this house he was not a crack head he was a great young man and was all ways try to help people out others
