(ATIKOKAN , ON) – On August 4, 2018, at approximately 2:48 PM, a member of the Atikokan Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a vehicle stop on O’Brien Street, in Atikokan.
The officer had a conversation with the driver and this led him to believe that she had been consuming alcohol.
As a result, she was arrested and transported to the Atikokan OPP detachment, where she underwent further tests. Subsequent investigation revealed that other charges were warranted.
As a result of the investigation, Tammie HAINEY, 58 years of age, of Atikokan, has been charged with the following offences:
- Driving While Ability Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code,
- Driving with more than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,
- Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent to contrary to section 335(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and has a scheduled court date on October 3, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Atikokan.
