(THUNDER BAY, ON) – The NorWest Community Health Centre, in partnership with the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, Thunder Bay Drug Strategy, Superior North EMS, Janzen’s Pharmacy, and the Thunder Bay Police Service are having a Drug Amnesty Day.
The event, which will allow people to turn in various items without consequence, is scheduled for the end of August.
Items included in the amnesty are:
- Prescription medication
- Over the counter drugs
- Cough syrups
- Cold and flu medication
- Illicit drugs
- Drug paraphernalia
- Vitamins and minerals
The idea is that disposing of these items properly will help reduce the chance of these items being used illegally, improperly, or being disposed of in a way that damages the environment.
The event will take place at the NorWest Community Health Centre, at 525 Simpson Street, ShoeMaker’s Garden.
Anyone and everyone who wishes to dispose of an item on the list may stop by between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Thursday August 30th.
