(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Today started off on a bad note when it comes to substance abuse issues. Thunder Bay experienced two overdoses that happened within half an hour of each other.

According to multiple witnesses at a south side Shoppers Drug Mart informed us that a pick-up truck had pulled into the parking lot, and the conscious occupant ran into the store to grab some naloxone.

The Pharmacist came out and administered naloxone to the overdoser(overdosee?).

The person who overdosed was taken to hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Shortly before the Shoppers Drug Mart situation unfolded, it was reported to us that a person had overdosed at a south-side home, near St Patrick’s High School.

Sadly, this person did not get revived, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Thunder Bay Forensics Unit was on location briefly.

If you or someone you know uses drugs, please keep a naloxone kit handy. You can find out more about how to get a free life-saving naloxone kit from your local pharmacist.

  1. naloxone kits do nothing to help with COCAINE overdoses, the naloxone kits are designed to work with opoids.

  2. Sadly another overdose happened and the male was put on life support which was taken off 12:27 today n the male passed 12:27 aug. 31st 2018. This is just too much. My condolences to the family who lost their loved one πŸ™
