IMPAIRED CHARGES AFTER VEHICLE STRIKES HOME

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On August 30, 2018 at 2:10 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a complaint of a motor vehicle collision on the 300 Block of Third Street West, in the Town of Fort Frances.

Investigation revealed the driver lost control of the motor vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a residential structure after crashing through multiple fences.

The driver, Stacey CRIDLAND, age 23 years of Fort Frances, was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests.

The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days. The driver was subsequently charged with:

  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  • Operating a Motor Vehicle while exceeding 80 mg of alcohol in one hundred milliliters of blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

She will appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on September 17th, 2018 to answer to the charge.

  1. This is not her first impaired charge.
    Her prominent family will have a hard time keeping this one out of the public view like they have in the past.

    1. What does her employment, or lack there of, have to do with an accident. I just hope she/no one was injured.

      At least she didn’t hurt someone or herself.
      Hope she will get the help she must need ✌🏽

  2. Mommy n Daddy wont be able to save her from this one. She should go buy a lotto ticket. She missed multiple trees and houses. She’s also lucky she never hurt anyone. Imagine if someone was in there backyard……
