(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Notorious criminal 34-year-old Jon Ciffarelli appeared in a Thunder Bay bail court this morning.
His Worship, Justice of the Peace Marcel Donio was presiding, along with Crown Attorney Sarah Munch and duty counsel lawyer Lianne Roberge.
Ciffarelli is facing charges from a July 1, 2018 incident where it is alleged he assaulted a woman, then threatened her and another woman with death.
Furthermore, an incident on May 17, 2018, alleges that Ciffarelli broke into a home in the 200 block of Christina Street east, and did steal property from the home.
Ciffarelli is facing the following charges:
- Utter threats to cause death x2
- Break & enter to commit an indictable offense (theft)
The Crown is opposed to Ciffarelli’s release, and cites secondary ground concerns. Secondary ground concerns indicate the Crown believes that the likelihood of Ciffarelli to re-offend or become a public safety issue is substantial.
Furthermore, the Crown requests a no-contact order with the two women while Ciffarelli is in custody.
Duty counsel requests the matter to be remanded until a Monday court date.
His Worship, Justice of the Peace Donio grants the Crowns request for the no-contact court order and remands Ciffarelli into custody until his Monday court appearance.
