(PIKANGIKUM FIRST NATION, ON) – Back to back days with sexual assault charges coming out of Pikangikum First Nation this weekend. Today we saw a 38-year-old Harrison Black appearing in a Thunder Bay bail court via a telephone call from the Ontario Provincial Police detachment in Pikangikum.
Justice of the Peace, Bernard Caron was presiding, along with Crown Attorney Rob Kozak and duty counsel lawyer Lianne Roberge.
Black is facing the following charges stemming from an October 6th, 2018 incident:
- Sexual Assault
- Failure to comply with probation
Due to a section 517 publication ban, no further details can be shared with the public.
Black was remanded back into custody, pending a Tuesday court date. He was escorted back to his cell at the police station where he will await prisoner transport to the Kenora District Jail.
Pikangikum is a fly-in reserve situated north of Red Lake and near the Manitoba-Ontario border.
