(CANADA) – A nationwide recall has been issued for multiple types of liquid nutrition products that come in metal cans.
The recall was issued originally issued on September 23rd, 2018 but has since been updated as of October 15th, 2018 with additional information. The recall was sparked due to a possible bacteria contamination. The company impacted “Abbott” is involved with the brands and types listed below.
Abbott is recalling certain Abbott brand formulated liquid nutrition products in 235 mL metal cans from the marketplace due to possible bacterial contamination. Consumers should not consume and distributors, retailers and food service establishments such as hospitals and nursing homes should not sell or use the recalled products described below.
What you should do
If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor.
Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be returned to the store where they were purchased.
This recall was triggered by consumer complaints. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products. If other high-risk products are recalled, the CFIA will notify the public through updated Food Recall Warnings.
The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled product from the marketplace.
There has been one reported illness associated with the consumption of these products.
