(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – The first day of legalization is upon us, and the Ontario Provincial Police have busted someone for having pot beside them in their motor vehicle.
The incident occurred in Huntsville, Ontario, which is in the Muskoka area.
An OPP officer made a traffic stop, and saw the man had a bag of reefer madness next to him, which is a no-no.
The man was charged with having marijuana readily available within a vehicle, contrary to the Cannabis Act, which is similar to having open liquor in a vehicle.
The suspect was ticketed at 9:45 am this morning and was fined $175 if they pay the fine right away, or $215 if they wait.
All marijuana was confiscated from the male, and laid to rest, likely in the evidence locker.
