(SEGUIN TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 21, 2018 a member of the West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting radar patrol on Highway 400 in Seguin Township, Ontario.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m. a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.
As a result the vehicle was stopped for speeding. During the investigation, police seized an amount of suspected cannabis marihuana from the drivers arm rest.
David MCALLISTER, a 22 year old man from The Archipelago Township, Ontario was issued a Provincial Offences Notice (PON) for:
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, contrary to section 12(1) of the Cannabis Act 2017.
The OPP reminds motorists that there is no safe amount of drug or alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver that is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
Please ensure when travelling with marijuana weeds to be certain you do it legally. Cannabis drugs should be stored in a manner where it is not readily available.
