(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A murder charge in the death of Chantal Ashley McKay has been dropped against one man.

Thunder Bay Police Service has dropped the charge of first-degree murder against a 34-year-old Roger Donald McKay, and he has since been released unconditionally.

Police had arrested and charged 4 people with first-degree murder after an investigation began surrounding the death of Ashley Chantal McKay(pictured below) who was murdered at a Cummings Street Apartment.

The remaining accused are:

37-year-old Marlene Lou Kwandibens

21-year-old Terryl Nicole Irene Michon

24-year-old Darren Steven Oombash

All remaining suspects remain in custody.

The autopsy on Ashley Chantal McKay will be conducted in Toronto, the investigation continues.

The remaining suspects – 37-year-old Marlene Lou Kwandibens, 21-year-old Terryl Nicole Irene Michon and 24-year-old Darren Steven Oombash – remain behind bars.

Police said an autopsy is expected to be conducted in Toronto.
