(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A serious incident has happened at a busy southside intersection late this afternoon shortly before 4:00 pm.

Reports first came in that a child was hit, but we have recieved an update that the person struck is actually 21-years-old and had jumped out into moving traffic and was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Arthur and Marks.

Thunder Bay Police Service, Thunder Bay Fire Rescue and Superior North EMS are all on scene sorting out the situation.

1 person was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Please avoid the area, as first responders are working diligently on the matter at hand. (UPDATE: Scene cleared)

  1. I passed by before the dude decided to take the jump.
    He was walking with a woman, who crossed the street.
    This dude walked in the middle of traffic.
    The drivers of the 2 cars ahead of me, hit the brakes and swerved out of the way.
    I yelled profanities to myself as I avoided hitting the 2 cars that had stopped.
