Pinty’s Opens with Full House


(THUNDER BAY, ON) โ€“ย The Thunder Bay Tournament Center is home this week to the top male and female curling teams in both tier 1 and 2.


From world champions to Olympic gold medalist the best of the best are showing off their talents and it was in front of a packed house.

The opening draw did not go the way they would have liked for local rink Team McCarville. A big 4 ender in the third broke the game wide open. With an 8-2 loss, the team moves to 0-1.

Other sheets saw reigning Gold medalist John Shuster USA squeak away with the victory versus Matt Dunstone.

Fan favourites Brad Gushue held on to win his opening match. With back to back steals of 3 and 4 Team Howard cruised along to a 9-2 early victory.


Curling continues tomorrow morning as local tier 2 competitors Team Koivula take the ice for their first draw.

  1. Go watch Derek Kenney sing and play guitar this evening at the Tournamnt Centre this evening! He plays in the band Plan B in local bars and is very good!!!
