(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Yet another murder charge has been laid regarding an incident that happened recently in Thunder Bay.
25-year-old Peter Keeash has been charged with second degree murder following the Dufferin Street death of 32-year-old Irene Barkman.
Barkman was found seriously injured at a Dufferin Street residence last month.
The initial charges Keeash faced was attempted murder, but now with the victim passing away, they have been upgraded.
On November 2nd, the new charge was laid while attempted murder was withdrawn.
His other existing charges of uttering death threats and forcible confinement are still before the courts.
City police responded to the Dufferin Street address on October 29th. Upon their arrival they discovered the victim with life threatening injuries.
The victim was taken to hospital where she died on October 31.
Barkman and Keeash were known to each other, but were not in a domestic relationship.
Keeash remains in custody and has a bail appearance tomorrow.
