(IGNACE, ON) – Highway 17 west of Ignace appears to be quite slippery, and is experiencing some hazardous conditions at the moment.

Multiple transports have left the roadway and ended up in the ditch beside the highway.

Another transport has jackknifed on the road, bringing the flow of traffic to a crawl.

The Ontario Provincial Police are on scene at both locations, and are providing traffic control. Traffic is closed in both directions from Ignace to Southworth Twp Rd. (UPDATE @ 8:40 pm Roadway reopened)

These incidents are estimated about 20-25 kilometres west of Ignace on Highway 17.

If you don’t need to be travelling through this area, please stay off the highway.

As always, drive safe and drive sober.
