(KENORA, ON) – A 41-year-old Justin Fisher found himself appearing in a Thunder Bay bail court this morning by telephone from the Treaty Three Police Service detachment in Kenora. It’s a weekend, so that means that all bail matters in the region get redirected to the Thunder Bay Courthouse.
Crown Attorney P. Pasloski was handling the matter along with Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill and a duty counsel representative.
Fisher was arrested by the Treaty Three Police Service and charged with the following criminal code offences:
- Aggravated assault contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Uttering threats contrary to section 264.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Impaired operation of a motor vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Aggravated assault is described by the Criminal Code of Canada as:
Every one commits an aggravated assault who wounds, maims, disfigures or endangers the life of the complainant.
Uttering threats in the Criminal Code of Canada reads as:
Every one commits an offence who, in any manner, knowingly utters, conveys or causes any person to receive a threat
The Criminal Code of Canada describes Impaired Operation as:
Every one commits an offence who operates a motor vehicle or vessel or operates or assists in the operation of an aircraft or of railway equipment or has the care or control of a motor vehicle, vessel, aircraft or railway equipment, whether it is in motion or not, while the person’s ability to operate the vehicle, vessel, aircraft or railway equipment is impaired by alcohol or a drug.
Fisher was denied bail today and has been scheduled to appear in a Kenora bail court on Monday for another chance at getting released.
